Finding Hope in Challenging Times: A Lenten Reflection & Prayer Experience, Week 5
March 19, 2026
Each of our six weekly Lenten spiritual journey presentations will focus on Finding Hope in Challenging Times. We will explore the events of Lent, leading to the Passion and Easter, in the context of today – the feelings of polarization, distress, anxiety, fear, worry, loss, grief – with knowledge and experience of seeing through those conditions or feelings and moving forward – through mercy/forgiveness, dialogue/respect, courage, faith/surrender, and gratitude. We will experience Lent from the perspective that we know how the story turned out – for the better. It’s not just history – it’s how we can approach events and have hope in our world today, too.
Each week, a different retreat center will have its retreat leaders guide the presentation, reflection, prayer format, and opportunity for discussion. Each Thursday session will be one-hour in length, starting at 7:30 p.m. PST. You may register by clicking the button below and attend any or all of the sessions.
Week 5 Topic: Faith
Facilitated by Fr. Febin Barose, CP
Faith, for us, is not simply a set of ideas we agree with. It is a living relationship of trust: an openness to the heart of God who waits for us with patient, faithful love. God rarely shouts; God meets us in quiet, grace-filled moments that we often recognize only in hindsight. And as Passionists, we learn faith at the foot of the Cross where Jesus entrusts Himself to the Father even in suffering, showing us that true faith endures, and leads us through darkness into new life.
Hosted by Mater Dolorosa Passionist Retreat Center
The program is offered without a fee, but we welcome at-will donations to offset the centers’ costs to create and present the program. For more information about the weekly sessions, visit the LARCC website by clicking here.
