Each of our six weekly Lenten spiritual journey presentations will focus on Finding Hope in Challenging Times. We will explore the events of Lent, leading to the Passion and Easter, in the context of today – the feelings of polarization, distress, anxiety, fear, worry, loss, grief – with knowledge and experience of seeing through those conditions or feelings and moving forward – through mercy/forgiveness, dialogue/respect, courage, faith/surrender, and gratitude. We will experience Lent from the perspective that we know how the story turned out – for the better. It’s not just history – it’s how we can approach events and have hope in our world today, too.

Each week, a different retreat center will have its retreat leaders guide the presentation, reflection, prayer format, and opportunity for discussion. Each Thursday session will be one-hour in length, starting at 7:30 p.m. PST. You may register by clicking the button below and attend any or all of the sessions.

Week 2 – Mercy & Forgiveness

Facilitated by Sr. Bernie Inocencio, CSJ

Jesus challenged his disciples to go beyond what was written in the Law and to forgive the enemy – and yet in our world today, we find it so challenging to forgive even people whose opinions differ from our own. We experience God’s mercy and forgiveness ourselves; how can we extend that forgiveness and mercy to our sisters and brothers? Join us to reflect on what it means to live from a heart of forgiveness.

Hosted by Center for Spiritual Development

The program is offered without a fee, but we welcome at-will donations to offset the centers’ costs to create and present the program. For more information about the weekly sessions, visit the LARCC website by clicking here.
